What we offer

Low Carbon Dorset provides FREE technical advice and grants to local business, community and public-sector organisations to help improve your energy efficiency and increase the use of renewable energy.

This free support is delivered through:

FREE Technical advice – On-site technical support to explore your low carbon project ideas and opportunities (up to 2 days). Followed by on-going support to get your project off the ground.

FREE Detailed Energy Survey– if required we can provide a FREE detailed energy audit of your operations.

Low Carbon Grants – grants are available for up to 50% of your low carbon project costs (between £1,000 and £75,000).

These grants can be used towards costs relating to the installation of energy efficiency and/or renewable energy measures, this includes:

  • Contractors and consultants
  • Equipment and machinery
  • Installation, commissioning and associated works

FREE Low carbon workshops – held online and in-person to share ideas for possible energy efficiency and renewable energy projects in your organisation. Keep an eye on our Workshop & Events page to find out about future events.

To access any of the support listed above your organisation must be located within the Dorset Council area and must be one of the following –

  • A Small or Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) .
  • A legally constituted voluntary or community organisation or a registered charity.
  • A public-sector organisation.

A grant from Low Carbon Dorset for solar panels has helped the community get even closer to their net zero goals.
