What we offer

What we offer

Low Carbon Dorset provides FREE technical advice and financial support to local Business, Community and Public Sector organisations to deliver carbon reduction projects in Dorset.

This free support is delivered through:

FREE Technical advice – On-site technical support to explore your low carbon project ideas and opportunities (up to 2 days). Followed by on-going support to get your project off the ground.

FREE Detailed Energy Survey– if required we will provide a FREE detailed energy audit of your operations.

FREE Low carbon workshops – held across Dorset, Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole to provide information on support available, insights into low carbon technologies, advice on carbon reduction, and demonstration events at successful projects.

Face-to-face events have been on hold during the pandemic – but as restrictions lift, we hope to reinstate our workshops and demonstration events.  Keep an eye on our Workshop & Events page to find out about future events.

Low Carbon Grants – We have nearly allocated all our grant pot – but we would still like to hear from businesses, community groups and public sector organisations looking for help with their low carbon projects.  This way we can explore how else we can help you and keep you updated if new funds become available.

Grants have been available to help organisations deliver renewable energy and energy efficiency projects.  Typically, these grants have covered up to 40% of project costs depending on the type of project and organisation applying.

Low Carbon Dorset support will be available until the end of December 2022.

The support available depends on what kind of organisation you are…

To receive support your organisation must be located within Dorset, Bournemouth or Poole, and must be one of the following –

  • A Small or Medium Sized Enterprise (SME) .
  • A public funded organisation/body such as a local Authority, higher and further educational institution, housing association or other publicly funded organisation.
  • A legally constituted voluntary or community organisations or a registered charity.

Find examples of the types of projects we support on our We Support page.

Looking for inspiration for your low carbon project, why not check out some real-life case studies of successful low carbon projects on our Case Studies page?

And you can find handy tips and advice on how to reduce your organisation’s footprint in our Organisation Guide to Reducing Emissions.

‘This has been a great project, radically improving the efficiency of our building… It couldn’t have happened without the Low Carbon Dorset programme which provided the catalyst and expert advice.’

It won't just be Pips Poundbury 's customers who will benefit from the sunny weather this summer… 😎

During the build of this café & community space on #TheGreatField in #Poundbury - we helped Alcohol Education Trust install solar panels on the roof and battery storage inside. So the charity really will be making the most of Dorset's sunshine this year ☀️ 🔋

And on those cooler days, when customers crave a warming bowl of soup, the #PiP will be heated by an air-source heat pump!

Read more about the project and the #LowCarbonHeroes behind it in the NEW case study on our website: https://orlo.uk/PiP_CaseStudy_ZQO5e
