Low carbon technologies can offer your business a great opportunity to reduce energy consumption, and improve competitiveness and profitability.

Through free technical support, workshops, networking events and grants, Low Carbon Dorset are helping Small and Medium Sized Enterprises (SME’s), carry out standard energy efficiency measures, and larger low carbon projects.

What types of projects can we support?

  • Standard energy efficiency measures – e.g. insulation measures, boilers, lighting upgrades, motor and drives, voltage optimisation, double glazing, variable speed drives, compressed air systems
  • Small scale renewable energy installations (up to 5MW) – e.g. Biomass boilers, Renewable Heat (ground, air and water source heat pumps), On-shore wind, Marine energy, Solar PV, Small Scale Hydro.
  • Use of innovative or new technologies & approaches that reduce energy consumption in your business.
  • Development of new products or processes which help reduce carbon emissions – e.g. proving concepts, research, marketing

To be eligible for business sector support you must be a:

Legally constituted Small and Medium Sized Enterprise (SME), or new start-up (not individuals or sole traders) located and operating within Dorset, Bournemouth or Poole.

A grant from Low Carbon Dorset for solar panels has helped the community get even closer to their net zero goals.

Hosted by Plymouth's Net-Zero Exchange project, this free online event promises to explore the challenges and opportunities of turning national targets into local plans.
